THAI !!!

The Thai greeting referred to as the wai (Thai: wai, pronounced [wâːj]) consists of a slight bow, with the palms pressed together in a prayer-like fashion. It is very similar to the Indian Añjali Mudrā/namasté and the Cambodian sampeah. The higher the hands are held in relation to the face and the lower the bow, the more respect or reverence the giver of the wai is showing.

The wai is also common as a way to thank someone or apologise.

The word often spoken with the wai as a greeting or farewell is sawatdee (Sawatdee, pronounced [sàwàtdiː]). This
word was coined in the mid-1930s by Phraya Upakit Silapasan of Chulalongkorn University. This word, derived from the Sanskrit svasti (meaning "well-being"), had previouslybeen used in Thai only as a formulaic opening to inscriptions. The strongly nationalist government of Plaek Pibulsonggram in the early 1940s promoted the use of the word sawatdee amongst the government bureaucracy as well as the wider populace as part of a wider set of cultural edicts to modernise Thailand.

The handshake is initiated when the two hands touch, immediately. It is commonly done upon meeting, greeting, parting, offering congratulations, expressing gratitude, or completing an agreement. In sports or other competitive activities, it is also done as a sign of good sportsmanship. Its purpose is to convey trust, balance, and equality.

In Anglophone countries, shaking hands is considered the standard greeting in business situations. In casual non-business situations, men are more likely to shake hands than women. It is considered to be in poor taste to show dominance with too strong a handshake; conversely, too weak a handshake (sometimes referred to as a "limp fish" or "dead fish" handshake) is also considered unseemly due to people perceiving it as a sign of weakness. Because a first impression can last a lifetime, the handshake is actually very important when meeting people for the first time and a weak handshake can instantly make people form negative opinions of you.

Good Luck. Break the Sword and Turn It into Flowers. Happiness is Close at Hand. What do these three books have in common? Not only are they books that help lift your spirits, they have also been turned into audio books for the visually impaired.

They are among 35 titles that have brought blind children much joy, thanks to Amway for Thai Society Foundation and nine publishing houses. New home, fresh hope

New home, fresh hope
A model village initiative of HM the Queen helps teach new skills to widows whose families have been torn apart by violence in the restive far South

Many families in the far South have lost breadwinners to the insurgent violence. As widows struggled to cope with their grief and financial loss, a helping hand was extended to them.
Aware of their hardship, Her Majesty the Queen ordered the Royal Thai Aide-De-Camp Department and her secretariat on Sept 6, 2004, to develop a sufficiency village near Ban Rotan Batu village in tambon Kaluwor of Muang district, Narathiwat. An empty land plot covering 716 rai (about 1.14 square kilometres) was bought. Almost half the land is reserved for houses and the rest for farmland. There are 150 houses under the model sufficiency village and farmland project which welcomes members of the public and government officials affected by the insurgency and terror attacks in the three restive southern border provinces of Narathiwat, Pattani and Yala. Residents receive vocational training so they can make a living and improve their lives.
Col Phinij Intharaksa, an operations officer from a working group implementing development projects in Narathiwat for Her Majesty, said local authorities take good care of residents. About 50 rai or about 7% of the project site was turned into fish ponds. Villagers also raise fish in baskets in the Bang Nara river. Another 46 rai is set aside for raising goats, turkeys, ostriches and other kinds of poultry. Paddy fields occupy 59 rai, or about 8% of the land. Other crops are grown after the rice harvest. Cultivation of this part of land continues all year round.

Sinking Village Farm
Soil subsidence caused by salt production factories using old methods is destroying the livelihood of a farming community

For almost two decades, villagers in Non Thai district, a farming community in Nakhon Ratchasima, have been pointing fingers at salt production factories for ruining their rice fields. For those peasants, the threat of salt production came more from salty wastewater and salt dust, which ruins water resources and their farmlands. But the soil subsidence early this year have only served to add more fear to these villagers.I felt the Earth moving. My first thought was 'earthquake', and so I ran for cover," Amnuay recalled, a villager of Ban Nong Rang, tambon Rang Plu in Non Thai district. It was not an earthquake, however, but a massive land subsidence, which had taken place right in the middle of her village. The ground had caved in, creating a huge sinkhole as large as 17m in diameter and about 15m deep. Though it never occurred to her that the sinkhole was the result of a salt production factory that stood almost a kilometre away from her village.

Tiger Woods

Tiger Woods will compete at the Barclays this week, an event which will not only help determine his stature in the PGA Tour playoffs but also his first competition in six years as a single man.

Tiger Woods looks out over the water at Whistling Straits on August 15, 2010 in Kohler, Wisconsin. Woods will compete at the Barclays this week, an event which will not only help determine his stature in the PGA Tour playoffs but also his first competition in six years as a single man.
Now that he has resolved his troubled marriage by signing the divorce papers with ex-wife Elin Nordegren, Woods' focus is on breaking the downward spiral that has left his golf game in ruins.
Since his return to competitive golf four months ago at The Masters following a blistering sex scandal, Tiger Woods has not come close to winning a tournament.
Not only does he have his sights set on making headway in the PGA Tour's FedEx Cup playoffs but he is also trying to earn his way onto the American Ryder Cup team.
Even if he makes the US Ryder Cup team there are some that think it could become a distraction especially since the wives and girlfriends of the seem to have taken on a bigger role in the social aspect of the event.

"""Although Tiger Woods will have news about sex He was able to deal with events that occur. Although results for Tiger Woods seems to never win another golfer Tasty!
